Review: Wasted Space #08

Image
"Wasted Space #8" Writer: Michael Moreci Artist: Hayden Sherman Color Artist: Jason Wordie Letterer: Jim Campbell Review by Steve J. Ray Fury is dead. After conspiring against Billy and the entire Gang, Dust's former lover betrayed the team , ripping off her fiance's arm and forcing him to take her life to save both himself, and his friends. With Dust now missing a limb, the gang goes off on a side-quest to repair their blue-skinned friend, temporarily putting on hold their mission to destroy "The Creator." Myths And Legends This series combines philosophy, sci-fi, comedy, politics, action and insanity in a cohesive, and entertaining way. How many other titles can do that? Every issue delivers thought provoking content and depth, mixed in with violence, comedy, sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Never, though, does any of it feel forced, or shoe-horned in. It flows, it's natural and it just works . The most unreal thing about Wasted Spac

Review: Invasion From Planet Wrestletopia #1 and #2

"Invasion From Planet Wresletopia" Writers: Ed Kuehnel & Matt Entin ( @SBP_comics ) Artist: Dan Schkade Color Artist: Marissa Louise Letterer: A Larger World Studios Review by: James Stone Official Synopsis "When a disgruntled pro wrestler declares himself ‘galactic champ of the universe’ a planet of alien wrestlers views it as an act of war.” Invasion from Planet Wrestletopia is a new comic series published by SBI Press. Fantastic Universes have very kindly been given the first two issues to review. I will start by saying that I am not a huge wrestling fan. I grew up in the 90's as a fan of WWF (now WWE) and watching the likes of Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker and The British Bulldog. As I got older my interest faded away and the last major wrestling event I remember was The Rock taking on Stone Cold Steve Austin at Wrestlemania. This being said, I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy reading the first two issues, and I'm very keen to get my han

GAME REVIEW: Indie Game Collection 2019

GAME REVIEW: Indie game collection 2019 Review by James Stone It doesn't matter whether you play on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo or PC, the game stores are full of content. Not all of them need to cost you £40-£60, though. There are hundreds of games for a fraction of the price that deliver equal levels of fun and enjoyment, just waiting to be played. If it’s First Person Shooter, platform or puzzle games that float your boat, there are games for everyone. You only need to look at the popularity of games like Minecraft , an 8-Bit graphics game in the 21st century. Fortnite , a low spec third-person shooter becoming the highest earning game in 2018. Games like this give great motivation to smaller developers. You cannot argue with the quality of games like Call of Duty but if you can deliver the same enjoyment at a fraction of the cost, then you are onto a winning formula. I am very grateful to have been given early access to a number of games this year and below are 4

Review: ‘Doom Patrol’ Season 1 Episode 7 – “Therapy Patrol”

Image
“Therapy Patrol” Writer: Neil Reynolds Director: Rob Hardy Starring:  Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby, Alan Tudyk, Matt Bomer, Brendan Fraser, Joivan Wade, Timothy Dalton, Kyle Clements, Charmin Lee, Bethany Anne Lind, Alan Heckner. Featuring Riley Shanahan and Matthew Zuk. Review by Steve J. Ray The Chief is still missing, and recent tensions within the group, including the mental anguish and blackmail threatened by Mr. Nobody, could tear them apart. This week we get detailed glimpses into the pasts of Rita, Larry, Victor and Jane. We also get to see Cliff cut loose, like never before. When I say that this episode is therapeutic, I really mean it. How Do You Feel? In a series that has consisted entirely of excellent episodes, this one could actually be the best one yet. One of the few (small) gripes I had about Titans, is the fact that the episodes where the team was all on-screen together were too few. There was a little too much focus placed on individual characters.

Review: Heroes In Crisis #7

Image
“Heroes In Crisis” – Part Six Writer: Tom King Artists: Clay Mann, Travis Moore and Jorge Fornes Color Artist:  Tomeu Morey Letterer: Clayton Cowles Review by Steve J. Ray So… The Flash is the wrong age  and Harley Quinn killed him? Or, Flash is dead, murdered by Booster Gold? Flash isn’t dead at all? What in heaven’s name am I talking about? These questions, and many others are not answered in this issue of Heroes In Crisis… and I’m loving it! Wally West was clearly in a far more delicate mental state than anyone imagined. It seems that this once happy-go-lucky hero was at wits end, so much so that he’d lost the will to live. If he faked his own murder though, does this mean that Wally is responsible for all the other deaths at the Sanctuary? Red, (And Being Beaten) Black and Blue Tom King really is weaving one heck of a mystery, and showing us just how fragile the human psyche is at the same time. I commend him for the bravery of his scripts, and for tackling such a c
